Dave began piercing in 1997, working at the well known
Piercology, in Columbus, Ohio. In the six years he was employed
there, he performed over 50, 000 piercings, and became a
member of the Association of Professional Piercers (APP). He
also gained experience doing piercings part time at Evolved,
also located in Columbus, Ohio. In fact, Dave is currently one of
the most experienced and well-trained piercers in Columbus.
Dave opened his new shop, Modified Soul, in 2003. Though
small in size, it was quickly regarded as a favorite amongst the
people, being voted Best Piercing Parlor in Columbus by
readers of Columbus Alive, in 2005. Modified Soul offers what
every piercing parlor should offer: health department approval
and licensing, CORRECT healthcare advice as suggested by the
APP, weekly testing on sterilization equipment as required by law
in Ohio, over 40 different piercings, and the best prices on
internally threaded, high quality, implant grade body jewelry.
Dave’s philosophy on body modification can be reflected through
his shop. Every piercing can be a part of a spiritual journey of self
expression or custom, and Dave respects every culture’s
purpose for body modification, including our own. His shop,
located at 3333 N. High Street, manifests essential and austere
surroundings, both by design and Dave’s own demeanor,

Nate first became interested in piercing professionally in 1996
when he got his first piercing done by Jen at Viking tattoo and
piercing. After years of thinking about it, he got his first
apprentiship at Evolved in Columbus, Ohio. There is where he
got his inital training and started forging friendships and tried to
find his own niche within the body piercing community. There is
also where he met Dave, and after a year at Evolved Nate
decided to move on with Dave when he left to open Modified
Soul.
Nate has been a apprentice for 3 years now, and works at
Modified Soul mostly on weekends. He also attends the APP
convention with Modified Soul to grow and continue his
education. On his time away from Modified Soul Nate is a EMT
and is currently working towards his Paramedic certifcation.

Ryan also worked at two different well know piercing shops in
Columbus. He has been piercing for seven years and was a
member of the Association of Professional Piercers (APP).

Jason (grazer) has been involved in the suspension community since
July 2001 when he did his first flesh pull which was facilitated by
(www.iwascured.com) I Was Cured in Toronto, followed by a series of
suspensions and eventual training by the same crew. In February of
2002, along with a handful of other Ohioans, (www.ihung.org) ihung
was born, thus bringing a new face to suspensions in the MidWest.
Many members of ihung have come and gone, but Jason has
remained as the driving force of this group, thus earning him much
respect in the community. Jason works with Modified Soul whenever
possible to further his passion of suspensions and bring it to those
who are interested.
